from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Birgit Drießen-Hölscher (born August 1, 1964 in Aachen ; † November 16, 2004 in South Africa ) was a German chemist.

Life

Birgit Drießen-Hölscher studied chemistry at RWTH Aachen University and did her doctorate under Wilhelm Keim with a thesis on homogeneous catalysis. After the subsequent habilitation in 2000 in the technical chemistry department, a call to the University of Paderborn followed in 2002 . Her work focused on homogeneous catalysis and multiphase catalysis . Among other things, she was degree program manager, member of the examination board and chair of the Institute for Chemistry and Technology of Plastics.

She died unexpectedly on November 16, 2004 while giving a lecture in South Africa.

The textbook Regulated Systems for Multiphase Catalysis by Walter Leitner and Markus Hölscher is dedicated to Birgit Drießen-Hölscher.
