Blic is a daily newspaper in Serbia .

The newspaper was founded in 1996 by a group of Austrian business people. The first edition appeared on September 16, 1996. In 2004 the newspaper was sold to the Swiss media company Ringier .

During the political protests in 1996 and 1997, the newspaper reported on them, which brought their anger with the Slobodan Milošević regime . Thereupon the editors undertook to hold back with the reporting, against which some journalists of the newspaper and also the political opposition protested. That led to the creation of a new newspaper. This was called Novi Blic for the first five editions and was then renamed Glas Javnosti .

In the years that followed, the once serious paper turned to tabloid journalism.

Today there are other formats in addition to the daily newspaper such as Blic Žena , Blic Puls and Euro Blic .

Blic was close to the Democratic Party (DS) for many years . Today it is a government-loyal paper.
