Bob Bishop

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Robert James "Bob" Bishop is an American software developer .

In 1977 he wrote the first four computer games for the Apple II home computer :

  • ROCKET PILOT,
  • STARWARS,
  • SAUCER INVASION and
  • SPACE MAZE

Some of the demo programs that were astonishing at the time, such as APPLE-VISION (a figure dances to a melody) came from him; he also used the tape recorder interface of the Apple II to output speech (APPLE-TALKER) and even to recognize speech (APPLE -LISTENER), for which this was certainly not intended.

His game DUNG BEETLES became known, later also published as TUMBLE BUGS.
