Fire counter

A fire counter is a financial monitoring device used in the context of the alcohol tax to count the number of fillings of schnapps stills due to temperature differences in the spirit pipe. Fire counters were manufactured in Austria as precision mechanical counters during the time of the First Republic. The electronic successor models developed by the Ministry of Finance are GZ by decree of the Federal Ministry of Finance. VS-1300/1-III / 10/96 was reintroduced on July 31, 1996 and has since been used in closure distilleries with limited system security.
