Break (dance)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Break , Engl. Pause , describes a stressed beat in a piece of music with a subsequent phase in which the continuous basic rhythm (the beat ) and often also the music stops completely.

When dancing, break refers to the brief stopping of all movements. If the music stops, if the interpretation is successful, the dance couple should dance a break at the same time. Of course, you can also dance figures in a break, which usually means that the figures are danced with a long delay during the stop.

The term break (dancing) is not to be confused with breakdancing .
