Brussels (Ontario)

Coordinates: 43 ° 45 '  N , 81 ° 15'  W Brussels is a village in Canadian Huron County (Ontario) . Originally called Ainleyville, it was renamed in the 1870s when a side branch of the Grand Trunk Railway ran through the villagefrom Guelph . Brussels is located 10 kilometers north of Seaforth and was founded in 1855 by William Ainley.

The village had 1,143 inhabitants in 2001 and was included in the Huron East Parish on January 1, 2001 .

In the late 19th century, Brussels had a post office, flour and grain mill, sawmill, hair salon and wind sweep .
