Bryntroll

A Bryntröll (German: Brünnentroll) was a spear-like weapon with a double-edged battle ax (double ax) in the Viking Age .

In Egill Skalla-Grimsson's saga , the use of a Bryntröll is described:

But when Kveld-Úlf had come aft to the half-deck, he raised the bryntroll and cut it through Hallvard's helmet and head, and it went all the way to the shaft; he grabbed it so hard that he tossed Hallvard into the air and threw it overboard.
