Bu ( Chinese 步 , Pinyin bù , W.-G. pu - "step") is a traditional Chinese measure of length . Today it is set at exactly 1 ⅔ meter (≈ 1.67 m).
The Bu is divided into 5 Chi ( Chinese 尺 , Pinyin chǐ - "Chinese foot"). Its length has fluctuated throughout Chinese history.
