Bud S. Smith (* in Tulsa , Oklahoma ) is an American film editor .

Life

Smith began his activity as a film business in the mid-1960s, where he was involved in several television productions. Since 1977 he has occasionally worked as a second unit director, and from time to time he has also worked in various functions as a producer. For example, the horror film Driftwood, directed by Tim Sullivan in 2006, was produced by Smith.

With his participation in The Exorcist (1973) began a collaboration with the director William Friedkin that lasted until the 1980s .

In 1987 Smith made his directorial debut with the comedy film Johnny be Good . This production is his only directorial work so far.
