Baiyanggou Buddhist monastery ruins

The Buddhist ruins of Baiyanggou monastery ( Chinese  白杨沟 佛寺 遗址 , Pinyin Báiyánggōu Fósì yízhǐ , English Ruins of Baiyanggou ) in the city of Kumul (Chinese Hami ) in the Uyghur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang are an old Buddhist monastery in the village of Baiyanggou cun白杨沟of the Baiyang He白杨 河 ("felt poplar river"). The monastery had its heyday during the Tang Dynasty , but according to historical documents it already existed during the Wei (魏) and Jin (晋) dynasties.

The site has been on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China in Xinjiang (5-141) since 2001 .
