Federal Treasury

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bundesschatz was the name for fixed-income securities that were issued by the Republic of Austria between 2002 and 2019.

With investment amounts in any denomination from 100 euros, there were terms between one month and up to 10 years. The purchase of federal treasures was only possible directly via a free online account with the Austrian Federal Finance Agency. The prerequisite for this was that the acquirer of legal age is a private person and has his domicile or habitual residence within the European Union .

Due to the negative key interest rate of the European Central Bank , the interest on federal treasures was reduced to 0% in July 2019. Since a further reduction in interest rates was not possible for legal reasons, the product was discontinued in June 2020.
