Constituency history
The constituency was newly established for the 2002 federal election from parts of the former constituencies of Krefeld and Wesel II . The division of the city of Krefeld into the two constituencies 111 Krefeld I - Neuss II and 115 Krefeld II - Wesel II caused great resentment in Krefeld. Complaints against this constituency were brought before the Federal Constitutional Court from various sides, but all of them were rejected. For the 2013 federal election, the constituency number changed from 115 to 114.
