The Federal Association of Health IT ( bvitg e.V. ) represents IT providers in the healthcare sector in Germany . The subsidiary bvitg Service GmbH belongs to the association .
history
The association was founded in 1995 under the name Association of Manufacturers of Patient-Oriented Hospital Information Systems (VHK) in Berlin. In 2000, the company was renamed the Association of Manufacturers of IT Solutions in Health Care (VHitG e.V.). In 2011 the VHitG e. V. the Federal Association of Health IT (bvitg e.V.).
Structure of the association
The member companies of the association produce software and e-health applications for the outpatient and clinical sector. Over 70 percent of the companies are active in international markets. With the general assembly, the member companies represent the highest decision-making body. Volunteer experts from the member companies take an active part in the various working groups. In 2016, the association founded the bvitg talents network .
aims
The bvitg e. V. has the following goals:
- Establish health IT for all care areas
- Expand dialogue with politics, self-administration, associations and users
- Promote technical, semantic and organizational interoperability and international standards
- Ensure the national and international competitiveness of the industry and take into account the promotion of young talent
- Inform the public about the market
Events
The association has been the organizer of conhIT (Connecting Healthcare IT) since 2007 . At the beginning of 2019, conhIT was renamed DMEA (Digital Medical Expertise & Applications). With around 10,000 visitors from all over the world and over 570 exhibitors, it is the largest exhibition in the field of health IT in Europe.
