Federal Association of Working Groups of Emergency Doctors in Germany

The Federal Association of Working Groups of Emergency Doctors in Germany ( BAND ) is an association of emergency doctors in Germany . It forms the umbrella organization of eleven national working groups. It was founded on September 2, 1998 and represents around 8,000 emergency doctors.

The aims of the association are to represent the national interests of its member communities, to coordinate the activities of the member communities, to improve emergency medical care, public relations and to achieve uniform qualifications for emergency doctors in Germany.

In cooperation with the Swiss Society for Emergency and Rescue Medicine (SGNOR) and the Austrian Society for Emergency and Disaster Medicine (ÖNK), the association publishes the specialist journal "Der Notarzt - Emergency Medical Information".
