Círculo de Leitores
The Círculo de Leitores (German: Readers' Circle) is a Portuguese book club and publisher .
It's the only book club in the country. The company is based in Lisbon . The employee network extends across the entire country.
The Círculo de Leitores was founded in 1971 and has been a subsidiary of the Direct Group Bertelsmann ever since . In 2010 the company was acquired by the Porto Editora publishing group .
The number of members has continuously decreased in recent years and reached 250,000 in 2010, after over 300,000 in 2006.
