European Center of Enterprises with Public Participation and of Enterprises of General Economic Interest

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Center of Employers and Enterprises providing Public Services and Services of General Interest (CEEP; European Association of Public Employers and Companies ; Center européen des entreprises à participation publique et des entreprises d'intérêt économique général ) is a European association for representing the interests of companies with public participation and by companies that provide services in the general economic interest, regardless of their owners or their position.

The association is one of the three social partners ( Business Europe and CEEP as employer representatives and the ETUC as employee representatives) at the European level, which are recognized by the European Commission and as such represents public employers within the framework of the European social dialogue .

The association, founded in 1961 and headquartered in Brussels, lobbies in European politics and advises the General Directorates of the European Commission on drafting regulations , directives and other legal acts that are important for its members. To this end, CEEP sends representatives and observers to committees and advisory bodies of the European institutions.

Events such as congresses, conferences and seminars on relevant topics enable members to find out about current developments at European level. Many of the events are held in cooperation with the European Commission and the other social partners.

The President of the German section of the CEEP, Rainer Plassmann, has been President since June 2019.
