CMSimple is a free content management system . CMSimple requires a web server with PHP support from version 5.6. A database is not required. All data is saved in a simple file system and, from version 5.0, processed on the basis of h1 headings with special CSS classes on individual pages with a maximum structure depth of 6 levels. Because of this concept, CMSimple is suitable for small and medium-sized websites. It does not have a user administration, but pages maintained by guest authors can be integrated. CMSimple requires a very short training period.

history
CMSimple was developed by the Dane Peter Harteg and published in 2003. The developer's concept was to create a system based on the motto "simple - smart - small" without extensive training.
The end of the CMSimple development was announced in 2009, on December 31, 2009 Harteg licensed the software under GPL3 without restrictions. The last small changes were implemented in version 3.4 in 2012.
Sale and new beginning
At the beginning of November 2012, Harteg sold the CMSimple project to the German Gert Ebersbach. Since then, CMSimple has been continuously developed and equipped with additional functions, especially in the backend / administration area.
Offshoots and forks
After the announcement of Peter Hartegs, CMSimple no longer want to develop, the CMS 2009 by a team of developers forked . This CMSimple offshoot is published under the name CMSimple_XH and is also licensed under GPLv 3.
