The interior

The Café de Oriente in Madrid is despite its relatively short history as a well-known literary café of the Spanish capital. It is located on the Plaza de Oriente, next to the Teatro Real in Madrid and opposite the Royal Palace. The interior of the establishment, which also functions as a restaurant, is described as neo-baroque and similar to a Viennese coffee house , although the building dates from 1982. So it is an example of neo-historicism. The café opened in 1983. Enrique Tierno Galván and Antonio Mingote are among his regular guests.
