Calyptra (from Latin calyptra = hood , cap )
is in botany:
- in the case of seed plants, the root cap
- with deciduous mosses a cap on the capsule of the sporophyte, see kalyptra
denotes two types of living beings:
- a blood-sucking butterfly genus within the owl butterfly , see Calyptra (butterfly genus)
- a genus of fungus within the ashlar class of Dothideomycetes , see Calyptra (genus of mushrooms)
