Camelots du roi
The Camelots du roi (French: Fédération nationale des Camelots du Roi) were the task force of the youth organization of the nationalist - monarchist Action française founded on November 16, 1908 . In France, street vendors, newspaper sellers and prospectus distributors are known as Camelots ("pages") .
The monarchist orientation of the organization changed after the First World War in the direction - in accordance with the development of Action française - authoritarian structures . Terrorist actions, so-called “direct actions” (→ Action directe ) were also planned to implement the anti-democratic goals .
