The Canal Hotel is a former hotel in Baghdad .

22 people were killed in the bomb attack on August 19, 2003 . A second bomb followed on September 22, 2003. Personnel of the United Nations (UN), who had their headquarters here in Iraq, were particularly affected , including Sérgio Vieira de Mello .

In 2013, the hotel presented itself as an abandoned ruin.
