Car Dyke

The Car Dyke is a 140 km long moat in the Fens in Lincolnshire . In the 18th century it was interpreted by William Stukeley as a historical transport route. Possibly the canal, like the Foss Dyke, goes back to Roman origins. Later it was probably also used as a drainage canal.
