The Center National du Machinisme Agricole du Génie Rural des Eaux et des Forêts (short: CEMAGREF , in German literally National Center for Agricultural Machinery and for Forest and Water Improvement in Rural Areas ) is a public institution in France and was founded in 1981.

It is the main organization for spatial planning and structural problems in the French Alps and sets itself technical and scientific policy goals. CEMAGREF reports to the French Ministry of Science . In 1997, around 420 scientists worked at CEMAGREF, who are working in Grenoble on the development problems of the French Alps.

In May 2019 it was announced that from January 1, 2020, the organization would work under the name Institut national de recherche pour l'agriculture, l'alimentation et l'environnement (INRAE) with the Institut national de la recherche agronomique (INRA, Nationales Institute for Agronomic Research) is merged. The decree formalizing this merger was signed on October 10, 2019.
