Centro de Coordinación de Alertas y Emergencias Sanitarias

The Centro de Coordinación de Alertas y Emergencias Sanitarias (CCAES, Center for the Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies) is the competent authority in Spain for national or international threats to public health , for example from pandemics . It was founded on March 5, 2004 and is subordinate to the Dirección General de Salud Pública, Calidad e Innovación and thus the Ministry of Health (Ministerio de Sanidad, Consumo y Bienestar Social).
