Cesidian ROOT

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cesidian ROOT is an alternative domain name system (DNS) provider that is available free of charge and free of advertising. Internet blocks of the Internet service provider can be bypassed when converting domain names into IP addresses via Cesidian . According to its own information, Cesidian is currently the fastest DNS provider ahead of Google Public DNS, but does not explain how this was determined.

Cesidian was founded on September 23, 2005.

Cesidian positions itself as an alternative root name server provider, but operates the servers as open resolvers . Anycast or DNSSEC are not used in the alternate root zone.

In addition to the 316 standard ICANN top-level domains (.de, .com, .org, etc.), Cesidian allows a further 152 top-level domains such as .africa, .bank and .pirates, some of which deal with the new ICANN top-level domains overlap.

Cesidian was founded by the American and Italian Cesidio Tallini. The other team includes the Germans Peter Dambier and Karin Dambier as well as Kai Kellner.
