Chagnoungouni

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chagnoungouni is a crater on the east coast of the island of Anjouan in the Comoros archipelago .

geography

The crater is on the east coast between Hajoho and Harembo and is open to the sea. The rim of the crater is relatively thin. It rises to over 240 m in the south and steeply approaches the sea at both ends. Several (temporary) streams run from its slopes: Hamboga and Hassanga in the south and Chirontsini in the west and north. The Chrirontsini valley also separates the crater from the mountains inland, and this is where the Hajoho-Harembo road runs.
