The Chicago State University (also CSU called) is a state university in Chicago in the US state of Illinois .

history

The college was founded in 1867 as the Cook County Normal School . In 1967 it was renamed Chicago State College . It received university status and its current name in 1971.

Sports

The CSU sports teams are the cougars . The university is a member of the Western Athletic Conference .
