Christian W. Mucha (* 1954 in Vienna ) is an Austrian publisher .

Life

Christian W. Mucha (actual name Wolfgang Christian Mucha ) founded a specialist magazine publisher in 1978 together with Adolf G. Löwy and various minority shareholders.

1979 Mucha took over the shares of all minority shareholders and published the magazine FM Tourismus. In 1982 Mucha paid off his partner Löwy. From now on he took over the management of the specialist magazine FM for gastronomy, hotel, tourism and bulk consumption / catering alone. The name of the publisher was changed from originally Löwy and Mucha Zeitschriftenverlag to Mucha Verlag GmbH.

Extra service

In 1984 Mucha bought the information for the media industry - ExtraDienst from the graphic designer Hans Auer. Mucha turned the extra service , which under Auer had between 8 and 16 pages in volume, into a magazine with at least 200 and up to 380 pages in volume within three decades.

The magazine Extradienst , which originally appeared fortnightly , was changed to monthly in 2003. Mucha is also the magazine's editor-in-chief . More magazines

In 1991, Mucha launched the luxury magazine elite for the first time . Four years later he founded FaktuM - Schnell Infos für Tourismusiker, the counterpart to FM for the travel industry. In 2008 Mucha founded the magazine Pokermagazin. In 2011 he sold it to Inside Media Publishing.

Trivia

Mucha is an art collector . Specialized in bronzes and sculptures, porcelain figurines as well as pictures and paintings, preferably by mood impressionists. Most of the works by Eduard Kasparides , Josef Stoitzner and Jakob Koganowsky can be found in his collection. In 1994 Mucha acquired Drasing Castle in Krumpendorf am Wörthersee as an exhibition space for his art collection.

In 2000 he established the Mucha Private Foundation and brought in his publishing house, all title rights, various properties and the art collection there. Since then, Mucha has only owned 0.2 percent of the shares in Mucha Verlag GmbH, but has been appointed and confirmed as the publisher and managing director of all of the group's magazines for life.
