Christine A. Maier

Christine A. Maier (* 1969 in Graz ) is an Austrian camerawoman .

Maier studied camera and image design at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and has been working as a camerawoman since the early 1990s. In 1998 Maier shot her first full-length feature film Nordrand by Barbara Albert , which premiered at the 1999 Venice Film Festival . In 2000 she was awarded the Austrian Film Art Prize for her work . In 2005 she photographed the Bosnian film Grbavica by Jasmila Zbanic , which won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale in 2006.

For light she was awarded the Austrian Film Prize 2018 in the category Best Camera . In 2019 Maier was nominated for the Austrian Film Prize 2019 for the image design of Life Guidance .

Christine A. Maier lives in Berlin.
