Christopher I of Alexandria

Christopher I (Greek Χριστοφόρος ) was the Orthodox Patriarch of Alexandria from 817 to 841.

Christophoros supported the worship of icons in the church. He took part in a synod in Jerusalem in 836 , which took this position and opposed the anti-image attitude of the Byzantine emperor Theophilos .

Theological writings have been preserved from Christophoros.
