from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Codices electronici Confoederationis Helveticae (CeCH) ( Latin for Virtual Manuscript Library of Switzerland ) was founded on March 24, 2006 under the aegis of the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences as a board of trustees. This organ is intended to promote the digitization of medieval manuscripts in Switzerland and the use of the technical possibilities of this digitization for manuscript-oriented medieval research and ensure the coordination of the various projects. It has created a joint Internet portal for this purpose. The digitized manuscripts of the individual libraries are gradually made available to the public along with the scientific descriptions.
