Lenin Hill

The Colina Lenin ( Lenin Hill ), formerly Loma del Fortín , is a hill on Calle Colina in the Regla district of Havana ( Cuba ) that was declared a monument in January 1924 and is reminiscent of the Soviet communist politician Vladimir with a large portrait relief and other design elements Ilyich Lenin . The Colina Lenin is the oldest Lenin monument outside the former territory of the USSR and was designed and built by Antonio Bosch , the then mayor of Regla, who was a member of the Liberal Party. In 1961 a kindergarten named after Lenin was opened on the hill. In 1984, on the 60th anniversary of Lenin's death, the monument was declared a national monument.
