Comandante Cero
According to Ernesto Cardenal , the name Comandante Cero referred to the respective leader of the group when the Sandinista acted during Somoza's dictatorship in Nicaragua . It was customary for all members to receive numbers for the action, beginning with the counting of the guerrillero in charge of the action as "Comandante Cero".
The best-known leader under this name was Edén Pastora Gómez , who was also given this name as an epithet because of his central role in the occupation of the National Palace in the Nicaraguan Revolution.
