The Condair Group AG is a Swiss manufacturer of commercial and industrial air humidification devices and systems . The company has its own sales and service organizations in 20 countries and is represented by sales partners in over 50 countries. Product range

After the Second World War, the Condair Group, under the name Defensor at the time, began developing and manufacturing a rotary atomizer for disinfecting livestock stalls (to combat foot and mouth disease).

Today the Condair Group offers steam humidifiers , steam distribution systems, hybrid air humidifiers, adiabatic air humidifiers, evaporative coolers , measurement and control technology as well as products for water treatment.

Typical areas of application are:

  • In office and living spaces as an essential health factor and to increase productivity and well-being through ideal room humidity
  • In the health sector as a contribution to recovery and increasing performance
  • For various industries, including printing & paper industry, textile industry, wood industry, automotive industry, pharmaceuticals to increase productivity and quality
  • For storing food, etc. a. Apple store, potato store but also wine cellar
  • In data centers for constant, efficient humidification and / or cooling of data servers
  • In the cultural sector, especially in museums and galleries, to protect sensitive colors in paintings, but also to preserve the value of valuable antiques and musical instruments

Company history

In 1948, the in-house development of rotary atomizers for the disinfection of cattle stalls under the brand name Defensor laid the foundation for the later Condair Group. With the development of electrode steam humidifiers, Condair entered the building air conditioning market (HVAC market / heating, ventilation and air conditioning) in 1958. In 1975 WMH (today Walter Meier AG , Schwerzenbach, listed on the stock exchange) took over Defensor AG, Condair AG and a few years later (1982) the Canadian manufacturer of steam humidifiers Nortec with its sales network on the US market. In 1995 Defensor AG and Condair AG merged under the company name Axair and thus covered the entire portfolio of humidification technologies. The Condair and Defensor product brands remained unchanged. With Draabe Industrietechnik GmbH, WMH acquired an end-customer-oriented company with a full-service business model in 2001. From 2011 to 2014 further acquisitions were made in Denmark (ML-System), England (JS Humidifiers), the Netherlands and Belgium (Geveke Technology Solutions). In 2014 all humidification companies owned by Walter Meier AG will be transferred to the Condair Group. The former, listed holding company with independent small companies is becoming a private company with its headquarters in Switzerland.

Technologies and Innovations

In 1997, Condair developed the first hybrid humidifier ( Condair Dual ), in which two adiabatic humidification methods are used in parallel. The combination of atomization and evaporation enables much more hygienic and efficient air humidification than the isolated use of these methods.

In 2000 Condair developed the first steam humidifier ( Condair Mk5 ), which solves the physical problem of calcification in steam cylinders through a patented limescale management system. The use of replacement cylinders is no longer necessary with these systems.
