Consumer-to-business

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Consumer-to-Business ( C2B ) stands for (electronic) business relationships between private individuals (customers) and several companies.

With C2B platforms - in contrast to B2C platforms - the customers are those who are looking for buyers, i.e. companies. This category mostly includes communities that are supposed to help the customer to find a suitable seller for a product or service, i.e. the opposite of the traditional sales model (companies offer, customers buy).

This inverted business model is made possible by:

  • Many people today are connected to the Internet, which is what makes a direct connection to the company possible.
  • The technology that used to be only available to companies for reasons of cost is now available to many individuals:
    • Print (in good quality)
    • advanced computers
    • direct connection (internet)
