Creative supervisor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The creative supervisor or the artistic supervision is considered the right hand of the creative director - CD for short - in an advertising agency .

The creation decisions made by the creative director are passed on by the creative supervisor to the “creative team” consisting of copywriters, graphic designers, illustrators and final draftsmen, and the implementation is largely managed by him. Thus, it accompanies the event after the conceptual phase in its implementation.

In contrast to the creative director, whose tasks are purely conceptual and organizational in nature, the creative supervisor also works actively on the implementation (text, graphics). As a supervisor, he always has an eye on the individual implementation phases and controls each project in the interests of his superior CD. The creative supervisor is the interface between the CD and the creative team.

The creative supervisor is also called the junior creative director in some advertising agencies.
