Cristiano Sociali

The movement of the Cristiano Sociali ( Christian Socials ) is an Italian party and was founded on September 14, 1993 as a split from the Democrazia Cristiana . Among the founders were the former union leader Pierre Carniti and the economist Ermanno Gorrieri.

The Cristiano Sociali took part in the left-wing electoral alliance Alleanza dei Progressisti in 1994 . In 1998 they merged into the newly founded left- wing democrats . Within this party they form a current with about 5500 members. The chairman is Mimmo Lucà.

The Cristiano Sociali represent a Christian-social policy, inspired by the "ethical-political principles of democracy, solidarity, freedom and equality as guaranteed by the constitution".
