Critical Design Review
Under Critical Design Review or abbreviated CDR (German: critical design review ) is the ultimate planning control of a project prior to implementation. It forms an important milestone in the project process and is often contractually agreed as a payment milestone for the end customer. In many areas (e.g. industry, space travel), projects are planned in several phases, each of which is concluded with a review.
Depending on the company's internal specifications, further reviews can be provided in the project planning phase:
- Software Requirements Review (SRR): Checks whether the Software Requirements Specification (SRS) (German software requirements ) is appropriate.
- Preliminary Design Review (PDR): Checks the technical adequacy of the preliminary design (also top-level design).
