Cyclostoma , Lamarck , 1799, is an obsolete generic name that was used for snails with a round housing mouth, from which the Germanization “circular mouth snail ” (from Greek κύκλος kýklos “circle” + στόμα stóma “mouth”) comes. The genus included very different species of snails, including:

  • Cyclostoma scalare (Linnaeus, 1758), type species , syn. Turbo scalaris Linnaeus, 1758, see Epitonium scalare (Linnaeus, 1758)
  • Cyclostoma elegans (OF Müller 1774) syn. Nerita elegans OF Müller 1774, see Pomatias elegans (OF Müller 1774)
