The DB Fahrwegdienste GmbH was founded in 2002 as a wholly owned subsidiary of DB Netz founded AG (emerged from the BRG service company Leipzig GmbH, later DB Services GmbH Southeast) and is now one of the largest companies for track construction site safety in Germany. The company offers construction site logistics at various locations, protecting employees from the dangers of railway operations, as well as services for track maintenance and environmental project management (UPM).

Nationwide, these branches with their 36 regional service areas control the maintenance of around 61,000 kilometers of track with over 70,000 switches and crossings and ensure the security and supply of more than 100,000 construction sites annually.

The head office is in Berlin and the central service center and training center is in Neudietendorf.
