German History in Documents and Images (DGDB) is a collection of text and image sources on the political, social and cultural history of Germany from 1500. It is a project of the German Historical Institute in Washington , which is supported by the Max Kade Foundation and the Zeit Foundation Ebelin and Gerd Bucerius and supported by the Institute for European History Mainz. Most of the image sources come from the Prussian Cultural Heritage Image Archive .

The collection consists of ten volumes, which are structured according to epochs from the Reformation to the present. In the individual volumes, the sources are divided thematically, among other things according to the topics of state, parties, military, economy, nature, family, religion, literature, art and culture as well as science and education.

The text sources are recorded in the original German version and an English translation. They are edited and published by specialist representatives.
