In July 2017, the group of standards DIN 18531 to DIN 18535 was published as a comprehensive set of rules in the successor to DIN 18195 . The group of standards is divided into the following parts:

  • DIN 18531 - Sealing of roofs as well as balconies, loggias and arcades
  • DIN 18532 - Sealing of concrete traffic areas
  • DIN 18533 - Sealing of components in contact with the ground
  • DIN 18534 - sealing of interiors
  • DIN 18535 - sealing of containers and basins

DIN 18531 is divided into the following parts:

  • Part 1: Unused and used roofs - requirements, planning and execution principles
  • Part 2: unused and used roofs - fabrics
  • Part 3: unused and used roofs - selection, execution, details
  • Part 4: unused and used roofs - maintenance
  • Part 5: balconies, loggias and arcades

Almost all of the essential regulations on sealing are summarized in DIN 18531. It is supplemented in planning practice by DIN 18195 , which only serves as a newly published, pure terminological standard, the flat roof guidelines and the DIN 1986-100 drainage systems for buildings and properties.
