The coin of Darius

Darius was a king of the Elymais , which was a province or a vassal state of the Parthian Empire . Dareios is only known from a single coin on which he is referred to as King Darios, Soter . The circumstances of the discovery of the coin and its style suggest that the ruler was born shortly before 129 BC. BC, probably only very briefly, ruled. Shortly afterwards, the Parthians took full control of the Elymais. The exact position of Darius is unknown. He may have been a usurper .
