The Da Rookies are a breakdance crew from Magdeburg and multiple world champions, European champions and German champions.

history

In the summer of 1999 the groups The Real Fresh Crew and Per Anhalt decided to merge under the name Da Rookies . A year later they took part in national and international breakdance championships. They were East German champions at the Battle of the East in 2000 . In the following years they took numerous first places, including a. They became German champions and world champions in 2002/03.

In 2005 the dancers opened the Movement Dance Academy in Magdeburg. They won the European title again in 2005 and became world champions again in 2006. In 2013 they won the German championships. Da Rookies founded their own in-house agency and management company, Da Rookies Entertainment , in 2013 .

In 2013 they developed the show The Nutcracker - Classical meets breakdance , which combines elements of classical, ballet and hip-hop. After several years, the show was completely redesigned in 2018 and upgraded with LED production. In the same year the formation went on a tour through 26 German cities. For this reason, Da Rookies founded the concert and marketing agency MaBa-Entertainment GmbH.

In February 2019, the formation received the “Honorary Ambassador” award from the city of Magdeburg for its many years of work in the cultural field.
