The book without a name (English original title: The Book with No Name ) is the novel by a previously unknown author and was published in 2009 by Lübbe-Verlag .

The book was originally self-published and first found its readers on the Internet until it reached a top spot on the Spiegel bestseller list in a German translation in 2009. Nothing is known about the author at the moment. The book is the first in a series known in English as the Bourbon Kid .

The sequel, Das Buch ohne Staben (English original title: The Eye of the Moon ), was published in German translation in September 2010.

The third part of the series, Das Buch ohne Gnade (English original title: The Devil's Graveyard ), was published in German translation in June 2011.

The fourth part, Das Buch des Todes (English original title: The Book of Death ), was published in German translation in July 2013.

The fifth part, Psycho Killer (English original title: The Red Mohawk ), was published in German translation in January 2015.

The sixth part, Sanchez - A Christmas story (English original title: Sanchez: A Christmas Carol ), was published in the German translation in November 2015.

The seventh part, Drei Killer für ein Halleluja (English original title: The Plot to Kill the Pope ), was published in German in May 2018.

The eighth part, our daily blood (English original title: The Day it Rained Blood ), appeared in the German translation in November 2019.

The ninth part (English original title: The Greatest Trick the Devil Ever Pulled ) has not yet been published in German translation.

The story of the book takes place in the fictional town of Santa Mondega, which is dominated by shady characters, and often in the tapioca bar, where smoking is mandatory. A solar eclipse is imminent, and there is a blue stone that gives power to its owner and will create an eternal darkness . Police, bounty hunters, undead and monks set out on a bloody search for this stone.

The protagonist of the novel is the detective Miles Jensen, Chief Detective of Supernatural Investigations , who goes on the hunt for a serial killer in town.
