The series

content

The booklet series The Magic Amulet tells the fantastic and eerie adventures of the young and beautiful archaeologist Brenda Logan.

The series runs within so-called women's horror series. In terms of structure and characters, the plot is located in the border area between series geared more towards women and more towards men. The attempt to address a wider audience with an independent series did not succeed. A few years earlier, Bastei-Verlag had tried the same with the similarly classified series Jessica Bannister and had to re-integrate the series into the original series after a short running time.

Protagonists

Most of the text was provided by the author and has been slightly changed. The original texts can be found on the author's homepage.

Brenda Logan
Brenda works for the British Museum in London, and her specialty is amulet research. Again and again Brenda comes across amulets with magical powers during her work in the museum, on expeditions or in private life. There seems to be a curse on her that mysteriously brings her and the magical amulets back together again and again and plunges Brenda into incredible, dangerous adventures every time.

Dr. Daniel Connors
Daniel Connors is Brenda's husband. Daniel is a well-known doctor and neurologist and works at St. Thomas Hospital in London. He has often saved his beloved wife's life during an adventure or freed her from a seemingly hopeless situation. But just as often Brenda has saved his skin or freed him from the spell of a magical amulet. But it also happens that Brenda is completely on her own because Daniel is indispensable in the clinic, attends a medical congress, or because Brenda is taking part in an expedition, far from home. Both love each other more than anything and maintain a humorous, erotic relationship based on mutual trust and a feeling of security.

Professor Salomon Sloane
Professor Sloane is the museum director Brenda's superior at the British Museum. Prof. Sloane is one of the main supporting characters. He supports Brenda in her work and is always responsible for getting her involved in adventures.
