Data position measurement

Data Position Measurement ( DPM ) is a copy protection mechanism that checks the exact position of the data on a CD / DVD . Pressed CDs are perfect clones where the data is always in the same place, but burned CDs are always different.

DPM recognizes such small deviations and can thus differentiate between original and copied data carriers .
