The de Havilland DH.93 Don was a single-engine, three-seat multipurpose aircraft produced by the British manufacturer de Havilland Aircraft Company in the 1930s. It was developed in accordance with the Air Ministry specification T6 / 36 and was originally intended to be used for training pilots, radio operators and gunmen. In fact, it was used as a liaison aircraft.
history
The first flight of the prototype took place on June 18, 1937. The initial testing by the manufacturer was followed by official tests at Martlesham Heath . The customer's change requests increased the weight of the sample to such an extent that some items of equipment had to be removed again.
Impaired in this way in their range of applications, instead of the originally ordered 250 DH.93 only 50 airframes - 20 of them without a motor - were delivered. After being converted into liaison aircraft, the 30 motorized machines of No. 24th Squadron of the Royal Air Force .
