Deglet Nour from Tunisia

The Deglet Nour variety ( Arabic دقلة نور 'Finger of Light', also 'Deglet Noor') is the name given to the fruits of the real date palm ( Phoenix dactylifera ) found in subtropical areas . The main growing area is Algeria , but Tunisia is also increasingly producing the fruits for export. This variety is known because it makes up by far the largest part of the dates consumed in Central Europe at Christmas time.
