Dentition disorders

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Various disorders can occur in the course of a dentition . A distinction must be made here between difficult tooth eruption ( Dentitio difficilis ), premature tooth eruption (Dentitio praecox) and delayed tooth eruption (Dentitio tarda).

Another form of dentition disorder are retained or displaced teeth. Retained teeth have not yet reached the occlusal plane after they have completed their root growth. They are only visible on the X-ray. Partially retained teeth are when at least part of the tooth crown is visible in the oral cavity. Shifted teeth are in the wrong place and / or in the wrong position in the jaw. Most of the displaced teeth are retained.
